Yea I'm surprised I didn't see complaining about the 20 min episodes in between gameplay. People were crying because the order was cinematic.

I guess I'll find out how I like it when I get home.

anyone who says the order is not an awesome game simply has not played it or just has bad taste in games :).

sure it may be short, and it may be super cinematic, but the game is f'ing awesome.

I really like this game so far. Some of the reviews that say the game is terrible...I just don't understand how they are coming to that conclusion.

One review from giant bomb was done by the guy who said he didn't like Max Payne or Alan wake (remedy's previous titles) and in no small surprise gave it one of the lowest scores out there. Other reviews are mainly positive. There are only a couple outliers and a 70-80 is not a bad score. People are just used to inflated scores so when something is reviewed pretty fairly they think it's bad.

Currently installing and its taking forever. I should have probably hooked the Xbox up to the Ethernet but the ps4 is using it now.

Took a while for me too and I am on Ethernet. I decided not to wait for the install and am just going to wait a day before I play it.

It took about 25 minutes to install maybe more, I have the disc version but it needed a 4.2 GB update.

I was wondering where the live action episodes are. I see an option to download them. But I just will stream them. Seems like they automatically play when you make choices in the game.

From what I've played so far, some sections of act 1..its a lot of fun. Once you get the hang of what the hell is going on and how to use the powers, it gets interesting. Haven't picked up many weapons yet but it reminds me of Max Payne a lot.

I don't seem to know how to melee yet but I'm not sure if I like how he automatically takes cover, I feel like I would like to have that option.

Edit: The copy I got from best buy seems to include a code for Alan wake, I guess the sequel to the version I played on PC a year or two ago. It was a decent story and had cool atmosphere so I'll probably enjoy that too when I get around to it.

I was downloading all 75GB lol. On steam or origin on my PC that would not take more than about an hour but since the Xbox can't saturate my connection the same way it takes about 3x as long.

Indeed, and it locked up on me last night, I guess. That is, I set the episodes to install, picked up the game from BB, then set it up to install after. The episodes got to 100%, still said "Installing" in my XB1's queue, and never moved to the actual game. So, I manually told the game to go last night, hoping that the episodes will finish their install after. I didn't have time to check progress this morning, but IDK where the console puts the install. QB was listed at 45.7 GB, and the episodes weren't an app or game. Maybe they're under QB as a save file, but I was expecting it to show the full size of 121 GB when it finished on the game's tile.

If you go into the manage game data option you should see the episodes there.

Do you get to watch the episodes no matter what or is it a separate options. I only played the first act, but nothing came up besides the next act. Don't want to miss them since it's part of the entire experience.

I thought this too. No, the episodes will trigger on their own after you make choices in the game. So act two is where you make your first choice. After that episode one is played. I actually enjoy it its like a small movie that you take part in..I can't say much for the episodes because I only watched one and don't know much about the show to be honest.

The game has lost my save. I was at Junction 4, went to play that, and it acts like I have no save. Xbox support had me waste 30-ish minutes doing a profile resetting, then said it can take up to 48 hours to finish working. I doubt it does anything, it hasn't so far. I'm very annoyed because all progress is lost, meaning having to replay those 4 Acts on Hard and reacquiring the collectibles (I probably had 75% or so).

That happened to me in tomb raider. I had to reload a backup save. Which I would think this game also had but I guess not. Does it not sync your save game data to the internet?

Has anyone received their PC code yet for the XB1 pre-order?

Yeah I got mine a few days ago. I actually played the first third or so of the game on my xbox and then finished up on my PC once it finished downloading. The saved game syncing between xbox and pc worked just fine in my case. Pretty fun game all in all with some next level storytelling elements. I'm tempted to give it another playthrough with different junction choices to see how things change.

Played it on PC and it was a terrible experience. Worst PC port since Batman.

Good news is it played fine and was a lot of fun on the console. It seems to leave some questions unanswered for a possible sequel too (cinematic after credits).

That wasn't my experience at all. I was able to run it on the ultra preset at 1080p with mostly higher frame rates than I saw on my Xbox. At worst it never dropped below the performance level of my console and the graphics were much better. I did notice that the live action tv series videos were quite a bit more stuttery on the pc than they were the Xbox, but that was my worst problem really. What issues did you have?

It has a well known memory leak that will hog your vram over time until you get a literal slideshow, I had many times when the world would disappear and I had to restart the level to reload it losing progress. Stuff like that. I'm not the only one with these experiences too. The fact that remedy said publicly that they will never add multi-gpu support is pretty alarming to me.
