Guy is retarded. Deflation for the US is pretty much always a bad thing.

It's both funny and sad at the same time but it speaks with a lot of truth. We can't look into the federal reserve's books to know how the nation's money is being spent because they're conveniently secret/private. They don't even answer to Congress (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXlxBeAvsB8) although Ron Paul will head a fed oversight subcommittee so this could soon change. I hope so. That organization simply has far too much power and so very little accountability and with so little transparency.

I posted this in another thread, but I think it deserves its own, good job OP.

Definitely did not agree with every single thing in the video, but on the key points I believe this is mostly correct gives some perspective to what's really going on.

The worst part is that a guy who used to work for Goldman Sachs is the one doing the buying, and he's doing the buying THROUGH GOLDMAN SACHS, rather than buying them direct.

Corruption much? He should be voted out immediately! Oh, wait, he wasn't elected!

This isn't partisan. This concerns everyone and not just in the US but, well, everywhere since the US controls the world's reserve currency (the US dollar). Because the implications span the globe we're seeing many foreign nations decrying what Bernake and the fed are doing here. They see currency crisis brewing.

QE1 and QE2 are hidden taxes. Congress is not involved. There's no vote. Bernake and the fed just does it. Worse, the increased inflation impacts all the money we've already earned and saved (whereas voted tax increases only hit us on future earnings).

What they're doing in effect is expanding the money supply (in relation to goods/services) and that's inflation. As a result prices will rise even further. The way government reports CPI to measure inflation is very misleading but that's another thread. Point is, it's much worse than we're lead to believe.

It's a critical time. The fate of the country really is in the hands of one guy and his control of the fed and nobody really has any idea what the fed's books look like.

Yay youtube education!

I also taught me that 9/11 was an inside job and the tower was blown up with explosives.

Can you refute anything stated in that video?

Also, do you think they way they're purchasing these bonds is acceptable? Former GS employee purchasing them through GS instead of direct?

Your reasoning astounds me. :|

Prove to me we are in a deflationary period when all prices are going up and our dollar is worth a lot less than it was a year ago.

We're not, but the video suggests it would be good.

Then why do we need quantitative easing?

Moved from previous post: Also, prove to me that a little deflation would be bad. Seems to me people living paycheck to paycheck would benefit from a more valuable dollar. Inflation is a tax on the poor.

"A little"? It has a cascading effect and given the frail state of the Economy goofing around with allowing Deflation gives no effective counter action. Hell, even practically giving away Money is hardly having any effect right now.

I guess the logical question would be "Why doesn't the Fed buy them direct?"

It damn sure is having an effect right now. It has been very effective at enriching the elite banksters, defrauding taxpayers, and papering over fraud.
