Question Quality of PowerSpec Power Supplies

Looks like that's a MicroCenter "house brand," so probably not total garbage, but nowhere near as good as most of the Seasonic units.

Yup.

I don't know who makes them for Micro Center, but here is a thread talking about them: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/941451-powerspec-psus/

Personally, I would go with a known quality unit like Seasonic Focus GX, Corsair RMx (or TX-M if you don't care about it being semi-modular), Phanteks AMP series, Fractal Design Ion+, Be Quiet Straight Power 11, etc.

Yeah, I knew that PowerSpec was Microcenter's house-brand for assembled pre-built PCs (and often a decent value, like Newegg's ABS brand as well), but ... power supplies? I'd be wary, absent a positive in-depth review from JohnnyGuru or HardwareCanucks.

Look at the warranty to gauge the quality , longer is better. For the present 10 years is about average for the good ones.
.

I'm pretty sure High Power is the OEM that makes them for Microcenter, and at one point they were making them for Thermaltake as well. They also sell their own "High Power" company branded lines as well, but nothing as extensive as Seasonic does.

"High Power" make Chieftec PSUs too, don't they? I thought that I owned one or both of those, that there was a connection between the two.

Yeah, I think that they used to rebrand a lot of both Channel Well (CWT) and Sirfa/Sirtec PSUs (both High Power). The last time I saw a Chieftec PSU was about two years ago, and that one was definitely a rebranded High Power (it actually had a High Power inspection sticker on it).
