I agree here. One can add you can get power down by just lowering the freq. There is plenty room for that. Even an eg 1.4 ghz is going to be crazy fast for midrange anyway.

S618/S620 will have the A72 running at peak of 1.8GHz.

Arg i missed that. Lol. Thanx. But well even if its for a short burst its well above what i - prior to this thread - would consider midrange within a year.
Damn it seems like so few years ago i was using my arm11 phone. ...called smartphone.

Perhaps utterly uninformed consumers is reading those geekbench scores? - and that drives the need for better cores.

Damn perhaps i should start reading that stuff again lol. Sunspider kind of made me hate mobile bm stuff.

No worries. Yeah, I'm pretty stoked at the kind of performance we'll be seeing in mid-range phones this year.
