quake4

I have withheld from buying this game until i have heard some reviews from you guys. How is the game and do you see any good mods being out or coming out? I was really into threewave (capturestrike) and i would like to get back into it some into q4, but i havent heard of any mods being good yet.

also, i have heard that fear is a better game.

1 - This probably belongs in Software, not OT.
2 - Mods take time, the game just came out.
3 - That being said, I'm probably going to buy it this week. Getting tired of BF2s problems.

It's not bad, I've played a few hours. I still like HL2 better though.

Isn't the gameplay supposed to be a mix between Q2 and Q3 with better graphics?

hl2 is much better. It definitely has a very doom3 feel to it. Lots of darkness inside, and things jumping out at you. You do get a flashlight on your blaster pistol and the machine gun this time though 🙂

All in all, not great, but not terrible either.

agreed, they take time. although i know people that have had the capability to be working on the majority of their mods for a few months. I have a friend that was atleast half way finished before q4 was even released.

Think quake 2 on doom3 engine.

Okay, if you like Quake3 a LOT, then you will definately appreciate Quake 4 because it's very much the same (albeit a bit slower).

If you liked Quake2, then get FEAR. That has a more immersive single player mode but the multiplayer is boring as dirt. Graphics are amazing however, but I play only for multiplayer, so the choice for me is easy 🙂 Quake 4!
