Quake3 FPS

what command do you have to type in the console to show the average fps? Mine keeps changing and i cant see the average.

Also what should the settings in the game be to have the higher fps you can?

I try the /cg_drawfps 1, and it takes the command, but it doesn't display the frame counter anywhere. Where is it supposed to go??? top-left? top-right?? bottom-left?? bottom-right??

Thats because you gotta type it down in the console, press tab in the menu screen

I typed /com_maxfps and got default:"85"

Those that mean thats the highes i could go?

I want to know the average i can go so i can compare with you guys 🙂

I turn off 32 bit for sure
i run full texture slider, bilinear with medium detail
1024x768
cg_shadows 0
cg_gibs 1 - not good for fps but looks good (0 would be faster)
cg_drawfps 1
cg_drawattacker 0
cg_draw3dicons 0
and i turn off marks on walls and ejecting brass
high quality sky i leave on cause it looks garbage without it

i get 144 FPS with these settings.

CPU at 945
and GeForce GTS at 370 MEM 215 core

Bring down the console ingame by typing the ~ key.

There is no 'average' framerate counter, just the one that shows the current framerate.

type /cg_drawfps 1 and the FPS will show on the screen in the top right I belive.

/com_maxfps is the maximum FPS your system will draw, I would reccomend something like 65 FPS for a system like yours, if you have cable/dsl or better. This command can have a big effect on lag.
