Just hard to imagine something so tragic. I wish your family and all the victims the best.

For the people who chastise US not doing anything .... US deployed their helis and troops within 48 hours. They have set up a base of operation near the impact point and are helping the folks tremendously. Stuff U will never see in new sadly :(

india helped a whole lot too, i hear they're doing all they can without actually crossing the border...man here my take on it tho...no one could have prevented this tragedy and the immense loss...but that silly fighting between india and pakistan has to stop because that something under our control. There is so much life lost in these struggles and parts of kashmir havnt been able to prosper cause of it...we really need a resolution there soon.

Oh and I was in Gujarat when the quake of 2001 hit...not as severe but I went there as its my dads home state and I was shocked to see many of the places I had visited as a child were completly destroyed...my 76 yr old grandmom who had just recoverd from a broken leg managed to escape from our house there and set up a tent in our lawn for other people...

India did help an I commend their efforts but this is what pisses me off. India offered to give helis but Pakistan said that they will only take the choppers if they were piloted by Pakistani Pilots. What kind of bullshit is that. They are tring to help and swollow UR damn pride :(

innah lillahe wa inna illahe rajioun
may God bless the souls of the departed. ameen.
my condolences to you and your family lodhi bhai. :(

with respect to the offer of the helicopters, as mentioned by Inspector Jihad, I would suggest it works both ways. The Indian offer was indeed commendable, and I cannot take anything away from that. The helicopters though could have been easily handed over to Pakistan to accomodate to those in need of the assistance... I did not see a point in India not accepting to that request if it was just to be for humanitarian causes.
