Quake III Win 2K help PLEASE!!!

I have recently installed Win2K Pro - but for whatever reason I can't run Quake III Arena (yes, it's a legit copy), and Quake III Team Arena (yes, another legit version).

I'm trying to re-install, and I'm dumped out with the error:

"Q_strncpyz: NULL src", which seems to be an OpenGL error, but I have NO IDEA why this would happen...

I have the newest Creative drivers in for my GeForce Annihilator Pro, an have also tried the newest Detanator drivers..

Please help soon - we've got six other guys over here tonight quakin' it up, and I could spank them all if only I could get it to work again..

Right. Also have tried the updates for both QIII and QIII:TA. Neither work, and both throw the same error....

are you dumped out with the error when re-installing it, or after you have reinstalled it and are trying to run it?

remove the creative drivers. do so by switching to standard VGA, and then remove all the inf's relating to the creative drivers.

then, go download the latest nvidia reference drivers and then give those a shot.

running win2k + q3a on a tnt2 w/ no problems what so ever. i have friends doing the same on Geforce MX's to GTS's
