The system is driven by 12 linux servers (2 monitors per server) using Distributed Multihead X (DMX) and Chromium. Chromium distributes the OpenGL rendering from the head node to all of the servers. The game runs fairly fast, though some lighting effects had to be turned off and Chromium is having some trouble with the mouse.

its utterly pointless, and looks gash with all the LCD bezels, but if you can do it...why not

edit.... i see the bezels arent there? eitherway the gaps between screens makes it look gash

I'd rather use just 21 screens or move up to 27 so the crosshair doesn't wind up split between the sides of two displays, but pretty damn cool all the same.

somebody has WAY to much time on their hands...BUT THAT's friggin bad. I'd like to pay a visit to my uncle over at the university salvage yard and get me some servers......build me a wall in my garage....how many outlets are you using to plug everything into?

It looks cool but 15 FPS is just not practical for anything.

You can get more than 15 fps, and this is not new. Been there, done that for 2 years, and I learned it from others. The limiting factor is not the graphics cards, BTW. It is the network. GigE is too slow and does not have enough bandwidth. Infiniband is the way to go.
