I have 2 GTX cards, and it runs fairly well at 1600x1200 high w/ 4x fsaa (normal, NOT TR) and 8x af. Multiplayer in large fights slows down a decent amount however, and as such I've recently disabled fsaa alltogether. I'm somewhat dissapointed to have had to do that since my system is pretty fast overall, but if it impacts my ability to aim well then it has to go.![]()
I'm seriously wishing I had an LCD TV and an Xbox 360 instead of having to spend thousands of dollars on a gaming PC that can't even match the visual quality with a solid framerate. Ah well.

Actually q4 on the xbox360 evidently stutters like a mofo, so you would still be pissed![]()
Try leaving at least 2xAA on. That helps take the jaggies down a little. Are you trying to use SS AA or MSAA? That can make a big difference too.

They are kings of optimisation, so I blame RavenCarmack was one of the first to b!tch about the weak multicore CPU's, however. I bet he just likes new architectures to challenge him. He is getting bored of PC's from what I can tell
I only can use 2x on Fear, but I am guessing at that resolution with high detail textures you are actually running out of frame buffer with high levels of AA. That would account for brief periods of annoying slowdowns while textures swapped, etc. Does turning down the detail a notch help?
And with the 360, you have what, nine games to choose from right now? And you would want your PC back in a year or two anywayIt does suck that you can't rock out on games right now though. Your rig has so much more power than mine.... I am guessing frame buffer is the issue. Nvidia really stuck it to us when they kept 256 on this generation of cards IMHO. Trying v2 of tweaksrus drivers, they claim to minimize most swapping issues. Worth a shot, anyway. Are your GTX's oc'd at all as well? Memory bandwidth might be very beneficial.
You obviously know what you are doing, it just baffles me why you can't play Q4 maxed out like that with your awesome rig....
