9/13/04 - MORE INFO ON Q4!

As I told you guys earlier, the November issue of PC Gamer is featuring a preview of Quake 4. The issue hits newsstands September 21 from what I hear, so keep an eye out guys. I don't have a subscription, but some of you guys probably do. If so, let us know how it is. It looks like subscribers are starting to get it already. Here's a few tidbits from the preview:

- Quake 4 is a direct sequel to Quake 2, takes place just hours after the event of that game.
- During most of the game, you are fighting with other marines, however there will be solo missions.
- Some missions take place inside, others outside. You'll get to use vehicles at times.
- You're part of a military campaign attacking the Strogg homeworld.
- Returning weapons so far: blaster, machine gun, nailgun, shotgun.
- Multiplayer: "The multiplayer experience is more akin to Quake III: Arena", no vehicles.
- "With Doom 3 it was horror. With Quake IV, it's war." </===YAY!!

Be sure to grab PC Gamer to read the entire 10 page preview and check the screenshots.

Because I love you guys, GO HERE FOR THE FIRST SCREENSHOTS OF QUAKE IV!

9/8/03 ...AND SO IT HAS BEGUN!

TEH B00t4y!

The guys at PC Gamer send along word to some major websites that their November issue will have a 10 page Quake IV preview, the first look at the new Raven Software game. The issue hits newsstands September 21st.

I can't say I'm a HUGE fan of the strogg universe, but you know what? I'm really looking foward to see what Raven can do with the D3 engine. That kind of setting could really shine with that type of a GFX theme.

WTF-photochop

This is straight from PCGAMER and a reputable source. Trust me, its not a chop.

go figure...

<---still plays Q3 arena/no mods.

Hey man, thats a great mod! 😉
i think he said he plays q3 arena w/o mods, but you're thinking about rocket arena. my all-time favorite. q2 and q3 RA kicked some major ass.

=|

I never really played any of the other Quakes but all I hear is how sweet they are. So a sweet multiplayer games based off the DIII engine sounds awesome to me1!!

Please, please, please... GIVE ME MY BOUNCY PHYSICS!

No other game has got it right. They all use the crappy BF1942/MoH boring slow physics. Bunnyhopping in Quake III... bliss.

heheh yup =)

REALLY looking forward to this!

I wanted Quake4 to be based off Quake1 and not Quake2. But, what can you do 🙁. Here's hoping that Raven does a damn good job.

If it's using the Doom II engine I hope Raven remove the 60 FPS cap.

I doubt they'll use the Doom II engine 😛

But I think they will keep the 60 fos cap in doom3 engine since Carmack said it was made so to prevent some exploits.
