Quake 4 is a Doom3 expansion

Just got done playing through it a little, definately a mixture of Doom 3 and Area 51, I couldn't even play it at 1280x1024 for some reason. It's not bad so far but hopefully the multiplayer will prevail.l

it isnt bad.its fast.but its lacking something..it feels like os many other id games iveplayed.there isnt anything new, perhaps thats what they were going for but from the intro down to the menus it just wreaks of doom3.

I'm finally playing Doom 3 right now, coming off of finishing Far Cry. Compared to FC, Doom 3 is bleh! The voice acting is a lot better, but I'm finding it's a game of flashlight, peak in to corners, hurry to switch to antoher weapon, boom, boom, boom. Do it all over again. The levels so far (half way through) aren't nearly as creative as FC.

If Quake 4 is anything even close to Doom 3, I'll pass.

i just saw alot of the screenshots....im disapointed...but its to be expected from ID
they make good doftware but decent or not as great games to go with they're engines
they're philosophy is... LOTS OF SHADOWS, and the use of only the colors red, brown, grey, black and on top of that, dull all the colors

that was pretty fun, but not my type of game.
i like rts,quirky games like katamari and animal crossing...
very few racing games have ever held my attetion.
the exceptions are
mario kart/64/etc.
diddy kong racing
gran turismo 1 and 4
hydro thunder.
