Quake 3 Point Release v1.29f Released (New One) -- DOWNLOAD IT. NOT on FilePlanet!

For anyone who is dedicated to Quake III gaming, the Point Release has finally come out. You can download it here, forget about FilePlanet, they suck! There's a bunch of new crap in there and I know I've been waiting for it.

Erikiksaz, one of the features listed is improved netcode, I would imagine that this would require a server running 1.29f as well in order to play. It'll take at least 48 hours for 60% of servers to upgrade :frown:

I can't wait to see these new weapons' effects.

Fileplanet can really suck sometimes, but I tried it out 2day and was downloading at 300KB which ain't bad for them. Last week I was DL'ing some sh*t from them at 3KB, lol.

Yea, it all depends on the file, if it's popular or not, it also depends on what time you go on.

The new effects are pretty cool looking. Nothing spectacular thoough. Just remember to turn them on.

There are also some special id &quot;Pro&quot; versions of some of the old maps.

Fileplanet is good at about 7am EST to 10am EST. By 7am, all the west coasters are asleep, and people are just getting up here. By 10am though, the early risers of the west coast are up and Fileplanet is off to sucking again cause most of the east coasters are using it.

In the summer, I don't even try to download anything durring the day. I just expect it to be slow

The pro maps are included in the Point Release. All you need is the Point Release.

Server operators probably can't find a good download site, FilePlant and the Quake3Arena official site seem to be bogged up. They should try Q3Center
