quake 3 for macs

i know there is a patch so that you don't have to play quake 3 on classic, but i don't know how to get it to work. does anyone have an answer?

Copy the entire directory off of the CD to the hard drive. Download the latest point release, put it in the same directory, run it. The latest point release is for OS X.

Nice info dude. 🙂

I tried to download Quake3-132-AltivecTest2.pkg.sit, but it asked for a password and didn't do anything else...

I just need the baseq3 off of the cd, right?

EDIT: The non-altivec version installed just fine, haven't tested it out yet though. And it asked for a password since I was trying to download two things at once. 😕
