I'm trying to setup a game against my friend in Q3 Arena...he has a P3 600, 160mb RAM - Laptop - will Q3 work ok on this, or should I go to an older (Q2, etc.) game?

Vid card: ATI 2x AGP 8MB RAGE Mobility? M-1 3D video graphics card

Running Win2k, btw. Doesn't look like it'll work. No OpenGl support. Any suggestions?

i doubt youre going to get the video card in the laptop to play a 3d game like quake 3. laptops are just not meant for gaming in general. go with quake 2.

The Rage Mobility chip is going to give you lackluster performance at best. Don't bother with trying to run Quake 3 on it.

But you can play unreal tourny fine. Dealing with the software rendering.
But yeah q3 is not very laptop friendly.

The Rage Mobility will give you about 35 FPS at 640x480

playable- but just barely.
