Quake 2 Question.

OK, I brought q2 to school (yea keyboarding gets boring when you type 50+ words a minute). Then other people wanted it on their pc, so I installed it and tought them the basics. then we networked it and we had like 5 people playing in the classroom. Well finally the teacher noticed and she said its a school violation to install foreign material, and to make it worse, the game is like "extremely" voilent , according to her. But she is cool and she said that if we turn off the blood(cus i Railed some guy into 10 peices =]) she would let us play.

QUESTION: Does anyone have a config or command or anything to disable the blood?
PLEASE tell me , I want to play quake2 at school!
😛
thanks in advance

Yes, there is a way to turn off the blood, but this also turns off all kinds of other effects, too, like gunshot lighting, etc.

Go to your "C:\Quake2\baseq2" folder. You need to create a new file called "autoexec.cfg", if it's not already there. Just create a text file and rename it to "autoexec.cfg". Use Notepad to open this file, and add the following line on each client computer's autoexec.cfg file that's going to play the game:

set cl_particles 0

Close the file and save the changes. now, when you start the game, you won't see the blood effects, and the other effects, too.

Thanks, I already have that though, I was just wondering if someone had a command where it turns blood off only. Thanks though, I might as well as use that. The thing I dont like about it is that when I use that command I cant see the rail gun shot. Dunno if its my video card , but I will try it at school.
