Quake 2 and Network Play problems

I recently tried to put Quake 2 on my friends 2 networked computers at his house, and I had problems running it. It seems that neither computer would detect the a lan game. A couple times it did detect one, and when we tried to join it would give a "server quit" message. Quake 1 and Starcraft seem to work fine (Halflife is also giving some problems). I am not running the latest version of Quake 2 there, just the one on the cd (3.05 I think). If you need more information on what is in the computers, just ask or give me an e-mail. Thanks for the help.

I'd say patch it, the CD version really wasn't even meant of LAN play, it didn't even have the Deathmatch levels. Get v3.20, I think that's the right one. Fixed a lot of network bugs too, could be the fix to your problem.
