Of these computers, the Velocity Micro Raptor is the undoubted best value (not to say it's cheap by any means), coming in at $5895. That price includes an FX-60 CPU, 2GB Low Latency Mushkin RAM, 600GB of HDD space, Liduid cooling, X-Fi Platinum soundcard, 1,000W PC&P PSU, and of course, the 2 dual-7900GTX cards :-D

Just saw some screenshots...that game does look very graphics intensive, but there is no way that quad 7900GTXs and an FX-60 can't handle it...after all, if 4 7900GTXs couldn't play it, then the rest of us who don't even have 1 7900GTX will never get to play that game

Handle sure but they won't be able to take advantage of it's DX10 features. 😉 It's better to spend $1000 a year on vid card upgrades than waste $5000+ on a quad SLI system that will be outdated by this summer.

FX 60 and Quad SLI.....yep, I could live with that.

I'm surprised Rollo, you being one of AEG's most active shills should have gotten you quad SLi by now. Or do you have to reach a certain troll level to achieve said prize?

I made an Alienware PC for $39,129 with everything
I made a Velocity Micro Raptor for $10,260
I made a Voodoo PC for $14098.29

Lol who buys all this crap?

<snip>

Totally agree with you on this... Actually, I'm beginning even to question spending $1000/yr. I would think that $500-600 should do it. Although, having two great single cards is also not bad for re-sale. You can sell one before the next gen comes out to help fund the impending purchase of a next gen card and have another to game with that you sell after you get the new card.

Quad SLI = The John Holmes e-penis edition of videogaming. Yes, they're both quite impressive, just not very practical and a tad overkill.

I agree, its a waste, since it will be outdated way too soon for that kind of money. Save your money mates...

wait so why cant anyone buy these normally? like buying the cards themselves rather than ALLALALAA with OEM built?

its getting ridiculous

i guess, in a few years i wont be surprised to hear 16 CARDS IN SLI! 16 CORE CPU!
16GB RAM!!!!

I hope no one actually thinks I was going to buy one of these things. They cost far in excess of what I paid for my car. Hell, I'm going to have enough trouble just trying to buy a single X1900XT sometime this year...😛

Bill Gates just designs his own video card........... he's too 1337 for this.....

I dont have a problem with quad SLI if someone wants to spend the cash for it. To me, its not worth it. 2x is enough for me. You never get double the frames, even though you pay double the price. The price/performance ratios goes way down with quad SLI, over 2 card SLI. Not to mention, you never know whats around the corner. What if NV releases a card in Sept that only takes two cards to get the same frames as quad SLI, with DX10 or other new features? But if you've got enough cash, and dont have a problem with what I mentioned, by all means go for it.

Also "and others offer Quad 7900GTX SLI" is misleading. I only checked the Alienware link, but they dont offer it till May. So it should be, "and others will offer Quad 7900GTX SLI"

Chuck Norris cannot be rendered by any machine.
The roundhouse kicks would pull it apart from within.

For every game that has been released for Windows, there was a dxbg (Direct X Bill Gates Edition). Even before direct X, Bill Gates had access to DX 2. All cards were instilled with this secret force. And only Bill Gates urine sample can unlock its true power. 😛
