Quad-pumped main RAM

Are we supposed to be getting quad-pumped main system memory anytime soon? (Or in the foreseeable future, for that matter)

Most 2011 boards have eight DIMM sockets, but you get quad channel with four..

OMG, none of you get it... What I meant was, when are we going to get quad-pumped signal clock memory (like GDDR5) on our motherboards? (As in, 4x base clock=effective clock)

Yes. DDR2 signalling speed is 4x core speed, and DDR3 signalling speed is 8x core speed.
