Does anybody know if there are any price drops anticipated for say: Q6600 or Q9xxx . It looks as thought the prices have gone up , Q6600 went up $15 in the last couple of days at the Egg, I know the .

I'd just pick up a Q6600 now. Very very nice price for what you get.

think you missed out on the $179 q9300 deal. if you live a microcenter, you can still grab one in-store.
If you live near a fry's, you can check if they have any cpu+mb bundle deals.

thanks all for replying. For me it's online only since it's 3 hour drive to the nearest Frys. I might track Slickdeals for a week and if nothing I'll jump in.

Wait until January. At least this is what I'm doing, since with the release of the new Phenoms there should be some price drops on these Penryn chips and who knows, maybe on the i7 as well. But those X58 mobos and DDR3 is not going to become cheaper any time soon, so I'm hoping for the Q9450 to receive a good price. 🙂

Yeah, I'm waiting for Penryn price drops... Clearly the 65nm chips will start getting scarce soon.

I was at Fry's yesterday, and they were closing the old phenom 9500 for $70, as is, with no returns. They also had the 2350 for $25, and the 4200 for $30.
