My Q6600 g0 won't budge from 3519mhz. It errors out in p95 after a few hours at 3520mhz.
Gigabyte p35-ds3r, Tuniq Tower
1.4500v bios, 1.28v load (huge vdroop), 71C core0 66C overall.

I primed overnight at 3.6 at 1.50 but at those volts rightmark reported 90c on core0 and I abandoned that asap.

Are you using Cpuz or speedfan?

I was getting false readings from both, i had to use easytune to get accurate readings.

I do get large vdroop, but friggin cpuz was saying i had 1.221v when it was actually 1.43v

q6600 g0 lapped 3.6ghz (9x400 or 8x450) @1.46v bios and 1.424v cpuz stable after 14 hours of prime
idle at 33c load 60c with a thermalright ultra120 extreme also lapped
gigabyte p35-dq6 rev 1.0

just finished my budget quad core build..

i had extra parts/case/vidcard lying around.. so i just bought:

Q6600 B3 retail
Thermalright 120 ultra (non extreme) + SFlex F fan-
AB9 QuadGT mobo retail
4gb of D9HNL micron ram retail
550W Sunbeamtech NUUO PSU

slapped it all together... and here's what i got

Q6600 B3 @ 3ghz (9x333)- 1.325v (Ultra 120 + dual fan)
AB9 QuadGT

idle @ 40 C
load @ 67 C

Tried to go higher.. but I don't think my ram wants to play nice and I want to keep temps at a reasonable level... it also is a budget build and I am MORE than happy w/ 3ghz at decent temps...

.. they are decent temps.. right? lol

I updated mine to my new 3.2ghz speed w/ the TR 120 ultra extreme dual fan push pull. Please update me on the list.

Thanks

q6600 b3, 1st try

i just picked a random fsb and started running it, hahahaha

specs:
q6600 b3
Ttake sonic tower (underrated hsf) with 2 x 120mm fans in quiet mode, i've had this baby for at least 3 years
gigabyte 965p-ds3 f12 bios
2 x 1gb corsair xms pc6400 5-5-5-15 (4-4-4-12 @ 2.0 mult to the fsb)
asus passive hsf 7600gs
antec 350w smartpower psu (!!!)

cpu set to 1.375v in bios, 1.376v idle, looks like 1.296v under load
also looks like 37°/33° idle, 57°/62° load (SpeedFan)
my rails are all off...
prime 95 x 4 (each instance in a diff folder, each instance set to a core) running @ priority 9

question: looks like 1 'die' is off (cores 0 and 2 being 5° higher),
anyone know how i can fix that? 😛

will show pics of rig later..

edit: here's a dirty one inside
? side panel off
? my sad rendition of "push-pull"
--- because i couldn't mount it the other way (90°) because it hit caps,
--- so i had to put it that way and drill holes to mount the fan
? yes, cable management is horrible right now
? also stuck a 40mm fan on the NB
? very silent, probably around 23-25dba 🙂

edit: i'll probably leave it at 3.15ghz (9 x 350mhz), 3.2 wouldnt cut it, but everything's been rock stable @ this speed 😀
also, AS5 settled down so my new idle/load temps are ~30°/~56° (SpeedFan)

Wow PAPADOC, that can't be stable, is it? 1.7 v on air,I did 1.6v to get 3.8 and I really didn't play much for stable because the voltage was to high for my comfort.

theres no way that can be stable.

let me tell you why. Even on my ES @ 4.05 the actual vcore required is somewhere around 1.57V-1.61V.

1.57V for it to be Bionic Stable, meaning no invalids, 1.61V for it to be prime stable.

Now at those settings the load temps on top tier water is around 67-68C across all 4 cores for prime. And 58-61C on WCG Bionic.

My cooling capacity of my system is somewhere near 700-800W of heat it can pull out. PA120.3 Dual DDC-2 on a alphacool 2 in 1 top.

So yeah im calling major shins on his post.

Yeah, way off base there.

Id definately have to see some screenshots of that thing even posting with the voltage that high, let alone getting into windows, let alone being prime stable.

That thing would die an EM death in days as well.

Im gussing since you got to 3.6 and the VID was 1.25v that it is a G0.

Make sure you are extracting the files before trying to execute it. Itll flip out if youre just executing the file in the compressed folder. I made that mistake becuase the vista interface for unzipping is goofy.

Files are extracted with Winrar in it's own folder. I'm at wits end trying to make it work. Program does an endless loop trying to work, have to end process via windows task manager. BTW, I have a 120mm fan in front of 2 HDD bay of the case, Chieftec Dragon Silver, I'll be really happy to get a 50% OC at 3.6GHz with a Ultra-120 Extreme. Next would be lower the timings on the memory and perhaps OC the eVGA 8800GTS 640mb.
