Q6600 B3 overclocked to 3Ghz

1.26 vcore, 1.35V CPU VTT

Thermalright Ultra120 Extreme

I have not tried pushing it any higher. This 680i motherboard I have has lots and lots of options I am not familiar with, so I am still experimenting.

Q6600(B3) @ 3ghz, BIOS vcore @ 1.31875, actual(load) @ 1.232. Air cooling via a Tuniq Tower.

On a side note, the Tuniq is an absolute PITA to install and I'm pretty sure I messed up my AS5 application trying to get it to stay in place. Temps are peaking at around 65C, I'll need to reapply the paste some time and see if it'll go lower.

Just got my Q6600 to go along with the e6850. Are folks here saying that 1.4 v is simply too much for quads on air? Man now I am worried -- I figured 1.4 was nothing considering I ran my original e6600 at 1.44+ since I bought it pretty much when they came out. The e6850 is also at 1.4 on the same Tunic Tower and all is well.

Even the G0's get very hot?

I will post my OC over the weekend when i get a chance to work it.

I am at 1.58v with my Q6700 GO. I don't see a problem with that voltage so long as temps stay under the Intel thermal spec. of 71c for this chip.
If my thinking is flawed I would be interested in hearing evidence to the contrary.

for now you can list my QX6700 ES B1 on air
3.2G / 1.34v actual after load droop / Zalman CNPS9700NT (35-36C idle, 66-67C small FFT prime load)

soon I will post my X3230 ES G0 results on water.
if my stupid apogee gtx would get shipped already it would be nice.

just as a rec...

it'd be easier if you arranged in terms of cooling, chip, speed.... rather than by user

so:
Q6600
user name, speed, revision, cooling
user 2, speed, revision, cooling

QX6800
username, speed, revision, cooling,
etc...

it'll be easier to read and you can sort it from slowest to fastest.

😉

again, just a suggestion

Sure would love to see which mobo and possibly RAM each person has.

Later next week I'll have some OC info for you from a G0.

AGREED!!!! Post which mobo, I REALLY wanna know how these do on 965 vs P35 boards.

I'm putting my new Q6600 in my Giga 965-DS3 tonight, I'll report back with info by tomorrow.

Then waiting for my new P35 to arrive and see how it compares 🙂

good suggestion, will work on that today 😀

seperate the ES chips.

My ES, is definitely cherry picked from the looks of the inital G0 results. But then i dont blame it, it took a very long trip from china.

Also Toadster's QX is very nicely cherry picked as well, seeing how it can pull 333x10fsb at 1.2Vcore. <absolutely amazing>

So far im seeing the G0 retails to not be so good in comparison with the B3's. They seem to have the near or same temp load of the B3's. If your on water, i think it might be a better idea to get a B3, seeing how they tend to go 3.6ghz with a decient water setup.

your doing a great job with this chart dude. keep up the good work. cpu model, voltage, cooling solution, and motherboard model. thats pretty much all you need.

I want to see my x3230 up there, I am pretty confident it will be the highest clocked quad on the chart. sigh, wheres my water block 🙁

Anyone have a B3 batch L719B098 pack date 7/10?

If so PM your OC results. I just got this in today, but it is not going into my DS3... I need a P35 board.
