This sounds like the grumpy old man's thread.
"Back my day we had one damn core. It ran at 800MHz and it took 30 seconds to open Facebook and we liked it damn it!
Now get off my damn lawn you snot nosed kid with your silly quad core 1.7GHz phone, it's a joke."
Outside of some of the THD specific games, next to none.
Quads aren't needed but having that much power makes it easier to do tasks and thus saves battery juice.
Except when you have an app that always on and sucks on that battery :<
I kinda disagree. Have 4 A15 cores wastes battery life at idle.
Happier to have two A15s. Much lower idle consumption and more moderate load consumption.
Don't think anything requires a dual core either. So if you are against faster performance, you could still run everything on a single core happily.![]()
While you won't be doing anything too intense, JellyBean on a Single core running at 1Ghz or faster really isn't bad. It's no Quad Core but they still handle normal tasks adequately. Just ask the Nexus S users or those rocking the OG Galaxy S with the Humming bird running CM10. The general consensus is that the experience isn't bad at all.Lol yes everything requires at least a dual core. Single core is not a happy experience at all.

The main issue with the Nexus/Galaxy S is the lack of ram.
It's amazing smartphones today as our computers a decade ago.
I doubt the idea of gaming on a small scree(as compared to TV or monitor). It's no fun and as far as am concerned, I cant play games without a gamepad.![]()
I don't recall saying you can't notice the difference. I have a nexus 4 too. I do however, recall saying it such devices like the one you mentioned can run Jellybean fine. Especially given their age and specs.I have a Samsung Vibrant (Galaxy S) with CM 10. And I have a Nexus 4. I notice the difference.![]()
Galaxy S Vibrant has 768MB of RAM
With only about 400-ish available for the system to use as addressable memory. The rest is used by the GPU, radio and camera.
Edit: The MOGA, while a fine device, is not all it's cracked up to be, especially for the price.
