Quad core only showing 3 cores???

I've got a Q6600 running on an Asus p5e mb and just noticed cpuz everest and my sidebar meter all saying I've only got 3 cores.Checked device manager and same thing,only shows 3 cores.Is cpu faulty? Running 402 bios.

I'll bet it was corrupted bios.I had just loaded this bios today.Just reloaded it and showing 4 cores now.:)

Check to see if the hyperthreading option is available in bios. I had an Asus board that would turn on and off one of the cores of my dual core, when enabling and disabling hyperthreading, despite the fact that the CPU didn't have hyperthreading.

I don't think hyperthreading comes in to play anymore,but i know i went through that on a gigabite board.New gen and all new rules now:))Like that song "it's just like starting over"...:)

maybe the readings are wrong... sometimes the bios would name them : Core 0, Core 1, Core 2, Core 3 and programs would read Core 1, Core 2, Core 3, Core 4... i can be completely wrong here
