Quad core in a matx case

Come July 22, I, as do many others plan on getting a Q6600. However, I'm getting tired of my old crappy case, plus I'm in a dorm and I'd like something that takes up a little less space and is easier to move (I might LAN with my neighbors once in a while).

So right now, my plan is to get the following:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819115017 - Q6600

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813128053 -GA-G33m-DS2R

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16811133035 - Thermaltake Lanbox

I have this CPU HSF:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16835118115 - Zalman CNPS-7700cu

Now the Zalman HSF is almost 2 years old, but that wouldn't really affect it's cooling capability would it? Perhaps lapping it might help?

My main question is, am I crazy for trying to put a quad core in a mATX case? I don't plan on overclocking unless I actually need to (which I won't need to yet, the only games I play already run fine on my Pentium D).

Has anyone else put a quad core in a mATX case? What have your temps been like?

If you dont keep your intentions above thats bolded. You are crazy.

But i would honestly like to say, owning 3 quads myself. Its not a good idea. You'll throttle the cpu alot, meaning you'll be in C1E mode, which then a overclocked dual core would pwn the living hell out of the quad.

What kind of idle and load temps does the 6600 get at stock speeds? I'll probably stick with my current plan and if the temperature becomes an issue I'll probably just get another case, mobo, and CPU fan, migrate the Q6600 to that new case and put my older stuff in the lanbox.

A quad in a matx case with an 8800GTX/2900XT would be a sweet little rig. You could be the server for the whole LAN and not get any slowdown while you play. People would be scratching their heads when they see your little case and wonder how you do it. :)

You'd probably be fine if you get a case with decent airflow. Seems like the Q-Pack has 2x120mm fans which would be ideal. Find the best hsf that will fit in an matx case like maybe the SI-128 or another non-tower style hsf.
