QoS

recently i noticed FTP has been saturating between two sites. neither of their edge routers have any type of QoS settings on them. In the past I've used rate-limit commands to limit the amount of traffic (ftp for one) but i want them to make full use of the pipe at the end of business hours (with the limits during business hours). Is there a way to dynamically do this?

Found the answer after some digging around. I can use time-range parameter to set when the access list should be applied.

good find...never had use for such a command, but now i know!

since you're doing time-based ACLs, you have an NTP server configured right? 🙂

Yes, sir, and that's actually one of the things I forgot to double check on (router clock). No point doing time-based ACLs if the router isn't set to the right time!
