Q9650 and E8600 not hot but new!!

3.0 Ghz quad is pretty impressive, but a little pricey. I had read that the E8600 was going to retail for $266 so they've got it at $26 over retail. I guess you pay a price if you want to be an early adapter.

I think I'll wait till Aug 10, when the price will be $266 (or lower)
IMHO the only real reason to get an 8600 in the present time frame is to be sure of an E0 stepping

Because E8600 overclocks much higher than E8400.

Picked up a E8600 using MS live search for $216.98 after 25% cashback. Mwave had it listed on ebay. I was going to get a E8500, but got tired of waiting for any price drops below $190. Figured I would spend a little more and get the best.
