Q9450 + TRUE

Core 0/1 load at 56c, and core 2/3 load at 47/48 degrees celsius. I re-applied the thermal goop, and although it wasn't the best job, it should have sufficed. The bolts are tightened down all the day, so I've no clue why there is such a big difference ?

This is overclocked at 2.83ghz btw, which is a very small overclock, and load temps of 56 are a bit high, no ?

HS Torqued because of the adjacent = temps..

so your sink is tilting too much on one side and giving too much contact on your lower cores, and too little contact on your upper cores..

Marc... hurry and bite the budget and go water...

It's not lapped. So it's torqued, meh. Nothing I can do about right, because the bolts are springbolts?

I've seen people put string or a rubber band on the top of the tower and attach it to the top of the case to help lift/support the heatsink gently. He adjusted the tension until the temps evened out as much as possible.

is the heatsink installed properly/tightly? do you have decent airflow? i had my TRUE in my old case and my temps were about 55C. i switched to a full tower case (antec 1200), managed my wiring better, and my temps are 33-35C @ 3.6 on my q6600.

Those are idle temps are they not?
