Forgot to say that in order to be able to manually set ram timings, you have to click in screenshot BIOS 1:
DRAM timing control --> change it to Manual
Set CAS# to 5
RAS to Cas to 5
RAS precharge to 5
RAS Activate to Precharge to 15
Also under the Advanced Tab:
- disable Intel's C1E support
- Max CPUID Value Limit - Disabled
- disable Virtualization technology
- CPU TM Function - Enabled
- Execute Disable Bit - enabled
- Intel Speedstep - Disabled
Don't forget you can save your new profile under Tools by creating a profile. This way you can have your standard profile vs. your overclocking profile.
In AI Tweaker
- AI Overclock Tuner to Manual
- CPU Ratio Setting - set to 9.0
- FSB Strap to North Bridge - I believe you should set this to 266mhz (double check that corresponds to 1:1 in CPU-Z)
- DRAM Frequency - Set to DDR Auto for now but make sure to check CPU-Z what it reports because you might have to adjust it
- For DRAM timing control - it might take a while to figure out best timings, so set to Auto for now (1st Information - set 5-5-5-15-Auto- Auto- Auto - Auto)
*2nd and 3rd Information leave to auto
- Mem OC Charger - set t o Auto
- Ai clock twister - auto
- ai transaction booster - auto
For CPU voltage as long as you type in 1400 it doesn't matter since it should set it at 1.40V.
- Leave GTL CPU voltages at Auto
- Northbridge GTL voltages are trial and error for each individual chipset, what works for one may not work for all.
Alternatively you can download AI Suite which might make it easier for you to focus on key parts after. You can also get Fan Expert to control fan speed in windows.
Asus PC Probe will help you monitor voltages in windows.
