Q: Why hasn't Toyota updated their slogan?

W/ all that's going on w/ the numerous recalls, isn't it time they retire, "Moving Forward?" Just a thought, your opinion? :hmm:

I've seen their new commercial about making the responsible decision about halting production and thinking of their customers best interest. It's about 60 seconds long and it feels like a Brawny paper towels commercial "So-So sorry"

Their new slogan should be Toyota - We make driving exciting!

Swear to god, my Corolla feels like it's going twice as fast as it really is. In a pickup truck, you'll find yourself going 80mph by accident. In a Corolla, doing the speed limit feels exciting. It's like I'm driving way too fast and getting away with it 😛

And why do they make ads like this?

Making people connect your cars, especially the ones that are experiencing a recall, with death is not what you should be going for.

Win.

I also saw one that said "Toyota: We stand behind our vehicles. Because we're too scared to stand in front of them." 😛

LOL awesome.

I heard a commercial on the radio today, it was literally something like "Toyota: Restoring your confidence!" It was about some extra warranty discount or something like that.

I love the commercials and things they've been running saying that they're taking a break from production to focus on safety. They're acting like they had a choice...

If I owned a Toyota and claimed the gas stuck and I was speeding and got pulled over, would I get the ticket? Might go buy a Toyota.

That's right up there with the thread that says you should down a drink right after getting pulled over so they can't prove you were drunk behind the wheel.

Of course they have a choice.

When was the last time you saw one of the big-3 HALT production due to a recall? I seem to recall a certain american car spontaneously exploding... and no manufacturer halt on production.

Are you referring to the Pinto? You do realize that the fatality rate for people in the Pinto was LESS than comparable cars at the time, right? And that the NHTSA never found anything that would have forced a recall? The issues with the Pinto are blown highly out of proportion compared to the safety issues that were just accepted as normal at the time.
