Q: which coppermines o/c best?

Well, with Coppermines reaching well below the $200 mark, I'm going to be buying a new processor in the next month or so to replace my current Celeron 366->550. I think its time for a real Coppermine, rather than a CeleronII.

Question though - which one to get? I'm going to do some good overclocking. I have a 72w peltier ready to go, and I'll be getting an Alpha PEP66u soon. I'm using a BX setup (Asus P3B-F) with an MSI slotket (FCPGA support), Crucial/Micron PC133, TNT2 Ultra, etc, and I'd like to get at least 133, if not well above it. That being said:

1) Slot1 or FCPGA? With those speeds that include both (I guess 550-667?), is there a difference in overclocking ability?

2) Considering the cb0 issue...from what speeds up include these revised chips? i.e. are there PIII 550e's with cb0 stepping? Clearly the cb0 is better than the ca0, right?!

Thank ye.

There are also 550 cB0 CuMines. Atacom.com has them for $185. When overclocking Coppermines on a BX chipset mobo, you must have some good memory and a good AGP (if at all) card unlike with Celery due to Coppermines already being at 100Mhz FSB by default.

I have a Creative Labs TNT2 Ultra - according to Anandtech's latest review, this works fine at 133 with SBA disabled. The 128MB chip is Corsair/Micron PC133, so that should be fine also.

Thanks for the help! So is there really not a difference of performance versus overclockability, when considering the chip connector type (Slot 1 or FCPGA) for the lower speeds?
