Okay, since the majority of money comes from creating more US debt by borrowing from other countries, why is it that the US military budget not "worth" the "expense" as well? Is it just plain politics? 😕

Partially, and the fact that the US is near the $8,000,000,000,000.00 debt mark. Do you like paying interest on that?

It's increased at $400,000,000,000 last year and at a little over $300,000,000,000 this year. The US borrows or spends more than it brings in (trade deficit) at the rate of almost $3,000,000,000 PER DAY. We are subsidized $3,000,000,000 per day just to pay for governement and import the cheap DVD player from China.

$300,000,000,000 that went to Iraq could have helped tremendously!

A real time national debt clock with your portion highlighted! 🙂

this is what you should visit to be astounded.

I saw that one at the top of the yahoo search! 🙂

Anyone notice the sharp shift upward at the start of 2000?

Fiscal Conservatives? Bah...there are none!

war is expensive in lives and $$$ 🙁

It's not just wars. Tax cuts and huge increases in ALL spending including social program (such as the $750,000,000,000 Medicare Prescription drug bill and the $14 billion tax break to oil companies in the energy bill - WTF? ) by the GOP controlled government. Fiscal conservatives they are not.

they are just looking to pad their pocket books at the end, when they can say, look how much money we saved you, now bitch donate to the RNC

print more money!!!

LOL. The Federal Reserve System prints 10 dollars for every dollar we borrow. (from an article posted in P&N). That's what we're already doing! 🙂

don't you need the gold to back it up?

Nope, that was the old system. We're credit backed now. Sort of.

maybe that is why they are taking so long to reach the people.....28% of new orleans is under the poverty level which means a lot of govt assistance. dragging their feet here (ie people dying) means savings to the govt serious $$$.... trimming the fat of society???? i know it sounds a little crazy but you never know. i have seen other types of govt agencies trim the fat and it is kind of done the same way, except they didn't have a natural disaster to help them out

...puts on nomex suit....
