Q is down??

My computer has had a little problem as of late. I have 2 clients set up on my Q and they will not transmit to or from the Q now. I have checked all Q settings under server settings and the clients are pointed to the Q, but will not receive or transmit to it. Both clients will process a WU if I just point them to berkely- no proxy set. I'm a little stumped, as I have been running this setup for nearly a year now without any problems. I let both clients download u WU last night, then piinted them to the Q. This morning they were both upside down- and red. When I pointed them to berkely again, they transmitted fine. Help!!

One thing to check is that the IP address/Mask of SetiQueue isn't set...i normally set them to all 0.0.0.0, i have found if i try to set these then nothing can connect 🙂

I'll try that when I get home. I did notice they were set to 255.255.255.176 and it didn't seem right, but it's been so long since I've fished around in there I couldn't remember.

What Confused said and in addition you might want to check your router (if you are using one). I had a router problem once and some of the settings were reset. Having a dynamic IP ADDRESS I have had to use a dynamic to static IP ADDRESS provider. I also had to direct to the Q server all incoming connections using the FORWARDING settings. With my router, this meant I could not use DHCP. So I have had to manually setup my LAN.

There was a setting in the router that was moved (during a problem) that I had to disable for it blocked all incoming/outgoing connections to my mini-team.

Block WAN Request: Disable

This is located in the FILTERING area of my router's settings.

None of this may apply in your case but someone may find it of interest. 😉

Just starting,Confused is right. I had the same problem acouple of weeks ago.
Check that the ip settings and subnet mask are all 0's that should clear it up.

IP/subnet mask were all reset to zero's, and that was it!! It's been so long since I've checked in, it wasn't fresh in my head. Thanks all!! we're crunching away again - should hit 2500 WU's by the weekend.

Glad you got it sorted 🙂

Early congrats! on 2500, and overtaking my own (dormant) account of ConfusedBW 🙂
