Its gonna be expensive. Sorry for your loss.

At least you know who hit you; I've come out of a parking lot to find my car mangled by some other car with no one to blame.

im really curious as to how expensive it will be.. grr..

A good shop will most likely replace the door skin and the quarter panel. No bondo. I would say about $1500 - $2000. That's what it would cost in SoCal anyway.

The worst thing about that this is going to go on your record for having a no-fault accident. Which sucks because even insurance companies look at that now.

Been there .. . done that. I stick most of my problems in a "tuff-shite move-on" bin.

Bellsouth is funny!

Same type of thing happened to me a few weeks ago, and that was 48 hours after I had just finished getting a $3000 repair done on it.

I feel your pain dude.

I think both of you are at fault.

One, she didn't look obviously, she assumed nobody was there and hit you.

Two, you didn't wait for the car to pass by. You rushed. And don't tell me her car was rushing by @ 40 mph passing your parked car then suddenly she hits it in reverse @ 10 mph going in reverse. As soon as you saw an object pass by your car you quickly pulled out like there was no tomorrow.

I always, specially In a parking lot, back up real slowly inch by inch until I see not one sign of a car going forwards or backwards! That is how you are suppose to pull out of a parked position any how. I feel sorry for you because I know you had no way to tell that she was going to back up like that, but thats why you have to drive extra careful in a parking lot.

?!? it was a one way street....should we all look for idiots? Technically you are not supposed to ever reverse on a road. Reverse is only to be used for parking spaces/driveways.

You are also assuming he saw something pass him and then floored it to get out of his space?!? you on drugs?

Most of the time the insurance is for the car, unless you excluded someone (usually someone living with you like a roomie or family member) then the insurance is in force.

another thing is...it absolutely sucks insurance companies can deny you for not - at - fault accidents.

I drive alot and have been hit a lot....nothing my fault and almost all happening when I was not moving or going through a green light.

Still my insurance possibilities are limited because of it.

Probably people like Regz on the staff of the ins. co.

Let me sum it up to make sure if I have it right in my head.

One-way parking lane in a parking lot (the lanes probably alternate as to which direction they go). She passes you driving the correct direction. She proceeds to stop and begin backing up. Meaning she is not only is she going down a one-way lane in the opposite direction she is also driving in reverse. You, assuming that no one will be coming down the lane the wrong way, start backing up. BAM! She hits you.

She is clearly at fault. While I myself look both ways many, many, many times before backing out of a parking stall (one-way lane or not) the lanes are made one way for a reason.

She will be covered under her boyfriend's insurance policy. As long as he gave her permission to drive it she is covered.

GOOD LUCK!
