Q: How do you change noise settings on Maxtor drives in WinXP?

Ok, I have the Maxtor 740dx and Windows XP. I have the Amset.exe from maxtor and they say to use it on a diskette from a clean boot, but there is no DOS prompt in WinXP....is there? I am confused as what to do and the maxtor website has nothing on this, so I hope someone out there can help. Thanks!
 
Format a floppy, XP's format dialogue gives you the option of installing DOS boot files on it. Then copy the Maxtor files to it.
