what's the max speed you've connected to the network?

their advertised max speed is 400Kbps but I've never gotten a connection past 230K

also, did you invest in the antenna, does that help with reception or speed?

The card I have is pretty old and it never connects at EVDO speeds even though it's supposed to. But I was working on a friend's laptop last week and her card is newer, and I had peaks of 800+. Both are Verizon.

those of you getting speeds over 230K, I wonder if you have the older software...

I just got the USB720 device about a week ago and it would appear the software has it locked at 230K. I know this because if I go into network connections and right click on the verizon link, and then configure, it shows that the max speed is at 230400bps

I tried changing it but it just keeps bouncing back to that setting :(

230kbps is what the software tells me too, but I get faster d/l speeds than that.

I got my Kyocera PCMCIA to 600/115 on speakeasy. It is a lot faster at night and off-peak times.

don't worry about the 230k setting on your PC. it doesn't affect the speed of your card.

I've got Sprint's Novatel S720 and i've seen speeds ranging from 400kbps to 1.3Mbps downloads. Uploads speeds are in the 300 - 400kbps. But this also depends on network loading, you may be at a high traffic area.

wow, that upload speed is insane! is Sprint's EVDO faster than verizon's?
