I got talked into one of those stupid Xanga journals back in the day and I hated it. I don't think I would like a blog.

I do not, but I have been thinking of starting one just to practice writing daily. Written communication is a valuable skill and should be mastered.

The only problem is I would never write a diary, much less an online one. It would have to be topical.

Ive been thinking about it for months now, so I probably wont. Although I liked the 360 idea listed above, maybe there is something quirky out there that would be fun.

And not personal.

I've got one not because I think anyone is interested in what I have to say but because like to write and it gives me a place to put that stuff. I only post about 1/10 of the stuff I write though.

I also wanted to play with wordpress and needed to do something with my website.

No - I think a lot of people have a misconception of blogs being a journal or diary though... the "blogs" I follow are more of a news site with a specific topic. These can be anything from tech sites, typography related, christmas lighting, whatever. Even if they are centered around a person's life, they're going to probably be on a certain topic. The journal/diary thing doesn't have much value in my opinion.

i got so bored here I started one about the ridiculous Japan Tobacco anti-smoking ads you see everywhere... but ironically I've been too busy to update it frequently

Yep, look in sig. Just started it a few weeks ago, having a hard time getting traffic. That said, I don't have much content up yet so I'm not too upset. I have had about 1500 impressions (and like 800 uniques) and no clicks on the google ads though. WTH

Edit: Also, I wouldn't mind some reviews from you guys. My first articles were pretty trashy and had humor in them that was..horrible, juvenile, etc..so I've cut that out But I'd still like some hints.

I'm still working on a good top banner (and bottom image too).
