Top gun truly is one of the gayest movies ever. Gay as in homo-erotic. Seriously. Just think of the volleyball scene.

You know, many of us just saw a bunch of guys playing volleyball in that scene. However, what people like you take from a scene like that is another matter it seems. As George Costanza once said after getting a massage from a man... "I think it moved", well, maybe that sums up what happened to you during that scene in Top Gun. And that is sad. 😀

No kidding. All I ever saw during that scene was a bunch of guys playing volleyball. It didn't conjur images of a Greek orgy for me.

I've always liked Top Gun. It's a ridiculous, over the top, cheesy movie, but it's damn fun to watch.

I guess it's my turn for a quote: "The Defense Department regrets to inform you that your sons are dead because they were stupid."

Edit: I also agree with jagec, I thought the volleyball scene was to get girls to see the movie.

Anyone remember the high fives they used to do in that movie? We used to do it all the time when we were kids.

Charlie: "He was in a 4G Negative dive and you were on his six?"
Maverick: "Yes, ma'am, At first. Then I was directly above him."
Charlie: "If you were directly above him, how did you see him?"
Maverick: "I was inverted."
Charlie: "You were in a 4G inverted dive with a MiG 21? At what range?"
Maverick: "Two"
Charlie: "Two miles"
Maverick: "Two meters"
Goose: "One and a half, actually. I got a polaroid."
Charlie: "Lieutenant..."
Maverick: "Ma'am?"
Charlie: "And what were you doing there?"
Maverick: "Giving him the bird."

You left out "foreign relations".

I love Top Gun, the people that claim to hate it hate it only because of Maddox and their homophobic views...and even then they like it but will not admit it to themselves. 😀

"Don't screw around with me Maverick. You're a hell of an instinctive pilot. Maybe too good. I'd like to bust your butt but I can't. I got another problem here. I gotta send somebody from this squadron to Miramar. I gotta do something here, I still can believe it. I gotta give you your dream shot! I'm gonna send you up against the best. You two characters are going to Top Gun."

I flew with your old man. You're a lot like he was, only better and worse.

Edit:
I have this movie on VHS from way back when and bought a copy on DVD as well. It's an 80's classic.

I don't recall anyone quoting a line from top gun except when speaking about the movie in my life. Unless it was a catch phrase that has infiltrated the general american lexicon.

That's a negative, ghostrider.

You just have to look around. Where? Classified...I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you.
