It's not a question of "not follow[ing] the US blindly". It's about always countering US policy and trying to stir up European opposition to boost their position in the world at our expense. I can respect a government which takes its own stance in its own interest because it fundamentally believes in what it's doing. The French government is merely anti-American and decides their policy based on that. It's a tradition which dates back to that bastard de Gaulle.

True, and Belgian chocolate is better. Belgium is not known for its wine, however, and the French make some damn good cheese. And bread. 🙂
