Q about the 2200+ core

Are ALL of the XP 2200+ cpu's built on the T-Bred core? Is there such a thing as a Palomino core XP 2200+ cpu? The reason I ask is this ad at BZBoys. They have a good price, but their ad says it's a Palomino core. Is this true or is it just a misprint?

When ordering a T-bred make sure that the first four characters in the OPN read AXDA instead of AX. The 'DA' suffix indicates the new T-bred core.

I guess that's why their price is so low...especially for the retail version. Would the performance be very different between the T-Bred and palomino cores? I've never seen a 2200+ shootout review between the 2 cores. I'm guessing that the performance difference would only be seen on benchmarks and not just "noticeably" faster when gaming.

I looked at their ad again. It says AX, not AXDA. I guess that confirms that it is, in fact, not a T-Bred.

Edit: Did another search on Pricewatch and included AXDA in my search. Looks like there are other retailers with good prices on 2200+'s that ARE T-Breds, not palominos. Thanx for that little tidbit of info, John. :)

There would be -NO- performanbce difference at all, so far as the end user is concerned they are identical chips.

Heat dissipation/power consumption and potential overclockability are the only real differences.

Do not buy from BZBoys. They are a horrible and dishonest reseller. Look them up at resellerratings.com and you'll see what i mean.
