Doing boxing and running, i just started back up after a couple years of not getting any exercise so I'm still pretty out of shape.

After yesterday's workout i still get that feeling in my lungs when I take a deep breath, where I can definitely tell i worked out hard (till i was out of breath) yesterday. No pain or anything, I'm hoping you guys know what I'm talking about though. Should I wait until that feeling goes away before running or doing something cardio intensive again? Does that mean my lungs are recovering or something?

Assuming it's safe to lift on these days, right?

It means you stretched your lungs farther than they have been for a while. Some light cardio would not hurt at all, the fact that they are expanding is good eventually this will help with your endurance. Yeesh this thread reminds me of how long it has been since I did any real exercise, I really should get at it soon

You could probably do some LSS cardio to recovery, but I would really suggest anything super intense at least for a few days. I don't know about you, but when my lungs start to hurt, I question where my body is at. Lungs are such a vital part to everyday life and exercise so you need to make sure that when you challenge yourself, you don't actually push it too hard. If you're just getting into something intense, you need to ease into it. 100% all the time, especially when starting, is not the answer.
