While I can definitely think of examples of animals displaying 'homosexual' behavior, I cannot think of a time where it's been the animal's first choice.. seems like it's more like "any port in a storm" mentality where they couldn't get a female so they settled for a pal instead. Not that there's anything wrong with it...

All I can tell you is that part is not true. The only other animal who has sex for pleasure besides humans are dolphins.

I think that would be called multi-sexual

Anyway, I don't know jack about biology nor psycology; so I have nothing to say about this topic. All I can say is that this thread has been a debate with at least some intelligence in it (which ATOT has recently lacked), pls keep it that way so I can learn more about this issue.

Do you know what this means . . . the absence of a connection between the human VNO and a functional accessory olfactory system means conclusions based on a connection between the human VNO and a functional accessory olfactory system cannot be verified. There are too many journals publishing borderline science . . . the kind that gets cited on nerdy BBS (I guess that's redundant).

It is certainly possible that some homosexuals have a phenotype which can be identified through a hormonal milieu (or imbalance as you called it). Is it likely? No . . . b/c homosexuality (just like heterosexuality) is a complex behavior with multiple mediators and modulators of activity. The integrated nature of human hormonal regulation makes single axis disorders relatively rare EXCEPT cases where the disorder is caused by a single genetic variant.

Hopefully you have access to legitimate journals as well as the fringe . . . so try reading them. I know you really want to buy the phermone package for $59.95 guaranteed to make you irresistable . . . but it has the same value as the pills you are buying for 'enhancement'.
