Why do the high-post-count people think they are above the low-post-count people? Do they actually think that having a high post count holds status in society? More so, why do they think us low post count's care when they reply "Ahh, noob, didn't expect anything more from you and you did not dispel that. /thread"

Depending on the information within the PM, a response may be generated back.

We do not attempt to control people's attitudes.

It may be a reflection of their social interaction.

If you review posts within P&N you will notice who the active P&N Moderators are.

There are also Senior Moderators that participate and may also moderate within P&N.

It's not so much post count it's time posting. The opinion of someone who's been here for longer than a month and has a history of good posts means more to me than the opnion of someone that hasn't yet earned that reputation.

Not that I have heard about or experienced. We are all one big happy family.
We may disagree but we do it professionally.

We use a vast network of messenger kittens. We tape a message to their cute little backs and tell them to go run and find the other mods. In the last few years however we have had a kitten shortage. I am not sure what the driving force is behind it, but we may have to switch to our backup, the aardvarks.

Kittens would not be the ideal choice given the habits of the largest demographic visiting here. I recommend wildebeest.

Bears avoid them due to their attitudes.
They turn up their noses at milk.
Only Jack Daniels will calm them down.

i've only read to page 3 of 7 so maybe this has been asked...

question: is AnandTech Moderator an individual or do certain moderators (Senior Mods?) have access to the account? if it is in fact a group of people who have access to the account, what is the AnandTech Moderator's roll?

also, could you give us a breakdown of the "rankings" of the site? or maybe say who is a moderator? the reason i ask is i'm sure Derek is a moderator but his title is AnandTech Editor. i'm not sure if RossMan is a moderator but i do know he has a custom title. but dennilfloss has a custom title, too, (PastLifer) but i think he's a Senior Moderator. at this point i'm assuming mods with custom titles didn't want to have a paragraph of titles underneath their names and like having a unique title but i think it would help if we knew which custom-titled members were mods.

an example is i have great respect for RossMan but i don't know if he's a mod so if he isn't a mod, it would be kind of weird if i asked him a question only a mod could answer.


anyway, thanks for the changes and sorry for the lengthy post 😛
 
Any Senior Moderator or Admin can log on as AnandTech Moderator.
I prefer cinnamon rolls.
The Moderator title is listed under the users' name. If it doesn't say "Moderator", they are not a Mod.

 
One "role" of the Anandtech Moderator: You are not supposed to be PMing individual moderators about forum issues. Either PM the Anandtech Moderator, or post about the issue in Personal Forum Issues. Thus, access to Anandtech Moderator allows someone to see if there are any issues that need to be dealt with, while at the same time, avoiding the problem of every single mod getting the same PM and trying to respond to a problem that may have been resolved hours ago.

(And technical forum issues go in that particular forum.)
