Pwned by my work laptop

Okay, so I was in a client's house today getting some work done. I went to plug my laptop in as the battery was about to run out, and as soon as I plugged it in...POW. Cue the sweet scent of burning electronics, and the soft smoke billowing out of the laptop's vents.

So, my PC Support team gives me the number to call IBM, since, it's OBVIOUSLY a hardware issue. The IBM guy LAUGHS at me. Says that there's probably nothing they can do to fix it, but I have to send it in to have it looked at, since it is owned by my company.

What a day. I'm hoping it's fubar'd enough that work will just give me a new HP with a Pentium M :)

for the most part...I've got a ~month old backup CD around here somewhere. Plus, IBM support told me to keep the hard drive here, so, if they fix it, or send another *Stinkpad :) out to me, I should be up and running as soon as I plug the HD back in

Love my X31. So small that I cannot feel added weight from it in my bookbag.
