1. pwned
A corruption of the word "Owned." This originated in an online game called Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned."

Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned."

It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force.
"Man, I rock at my job, but I still got a bad evaluation. I was pwned."

OR

"That team totally pwned us."

The rebel without a clue misspelled vesion of owned. Owned is the lazy form of "this is funny because you did something incredibly stupid and are not competent enough to recognize your own shortcomings that are painfully obvious to the rest of the planet."

Off Topic is not to be taken too seriously. Stay out of Politics and News is the best advice I can give at this point.

i wonder how many people out there are using 'pwned' and dont even know where it comes from or know exactly what it means, if it truly means 'pawned' than its like saying 'robbed' or 'stole'. Therefore all who believe it means owned or beat severly, your WRONG, it would actually mean your were robbed, backdoored, pawned.
