UPDATE: 8/17
update: so he wanted me to come to work yesterday. We clearly made an agreement that I had monday and tuesday off but he acted as if that hadn't happened.
I told him that I had been udner the impression that I had had the day off. He pressed and pressed, but I said I had plans and such.
Read my other thread about the dog. Yesterday rocked.
The folks were on vacation so I was the only one available to care for the dog.
On thursday I had to finish setting a domain for a client and due to issues (rampant spyware problems)it took forever. A simple AV/Spyware
corporate solution took forever to install....let's not even get into how long the AD/Domain took to setup. Basically I got home really late and
my dog had to 'hold it in' till then and had to wait to eat her dinner
I tried to get my coworkers to help out so I could go home on time but they did not:|
Well, that day, I ended up working from 9am-4:30am. Needless to say, I ended up passing out on the jobsite because of fatigue:laugh: In the end
the coworkers that were supposed to help me did not and I had to stay there forever.
On Friday I took the morning off because I was so out of it, but a networking job had been scheduled for 5pm. I was under the impression that a
fellow coworker would join me on the jobsite so I was fine. It was going a really neat network setup: My Documents redirection, roaming profiles,
access to all local profile data...the whole bit.
I got a call from the coworker right before we had to go onsite...he was feeling ill:roll:
I finally got my boss to help me out but in the end they both had to leave. I was left to fend for myself. My boss was somewhat cool about it and
helped with what he could and I really appreciated it. He had to leave to I ended up working from 6pm-2am. I got home around 4am.
The worker that was suppossed to be ther again yesterday to let us in so we could continue didn't get our calls and called us in the evening
telling us that it had to get finished. I went, but my boss said he was busy and couldn't go. He said he would show late but ended up skipping out
on me.
Worst of all, I had parked my car in a garage and did not have keys so I could leave the building so I could not leave the jobsite and come back.
I was between a rock an a hard place and decided to stay and fisnish the job. My dog had to go hungry again. I called everyone I knew to see if
they could give me a ride. No one gave me any sympathy:\ A cab ride at that hour would have cost me > $100, which I simply cannot afford
I did finish though.
I ended up having to work from 8:30pm to 4:30pm this afternoon. The guy isn charge of the site was ecstatic at how great it worked and basically
quite satisfied. He was quite appreciative of my dedication, and honestly, that made my day. I was doing the work for a non-profit whsoe cause is
indeed a great service to many Americans, and I felt proud to have brought them into the 21st century
I head to Starbucks, but a Vinte Mocha frap, and headed to the parking garage.
Now I don't utter the word "Fvck" at all in public, but the crudeness with which I uttered said word multiple times upon seeing the garage sign
scared the sh!t out of people that were walking nearby
.."closed on sunday's"
So at this point I am in a daze. I am quite disoriented have barely slept for days, my cell's battery is almost dead, I am sweating and smell
awful after having worked so long and after standing outside in the horrible muggy weather, and I am a $100-taxi-car-ride away from home.
I jsut start laughing:laugh:
(freaked out everybody around me x10
)
SO I call my boss hoping to get a ride
" I can't dude, I am busy"
I jsut saved his ass by finishing this job and that is all he has to say. I am so out of it that I I jsut hang up on him mid-sentence and call my
folks. THye have jsut arrived from their vacation and wondering why I haven't fed the dog. My dad lambasts me without hearing my side of the story
and hangs up on me, saying that he doesn't want to hear a word from me "at all." I try to call back.
I get no answer.
My cell is basically dead so I am on my own. I call the guy who was on site (who doesn't have a car) and he let's me know that a train station is 1 block away
I end up having to take the train to it's endpoint, and takign a cabride ($60
) home.
...and my Dad still doesn't want to talk to me.
Cliffs: sh!tty sh!tty bang bang
Honestly, It's not that I think my writing is too shakespeare-caliber to summerize, but rather, the fact that I haven't slept and am out of it, that keeps me from writing cliffs.
