why do people keep saying the redshirt was flailing his arms... the gangstar is throwing a number of punches at the end and not one of them ever gets close, he's moving his arm to block real punches... none of which are coming, but he's prepared. Then when the gangstar overswings and is following thru and pulling his head, he whips his arm around and knocks that bastid down... precise hit to the ear, carrying with the gangstar's momentum.

I'm not super fighter guy, but thats my view... and didn't anyone read the "I got teh jumped" thread? Rule number 1, try to avoid a fight by intimidating your opponent... the only thing that kept that gangstar from running like a b!tch was his other gangstars goading him on.

Another vote for, "damn people have been jaded by movie fighting." Sorry you don't get to practice a street fight with the guy before the actual run... /sigh.

Wait, did he win or did he win?

Because in the video I saw, he handled the wannabe gangsta.

But hey, atleast the wannabe looked cool before he got knocked the fddddduck out.

I'm pretty sure the movie comment was because people were acting like since the kid didn't do some "triple spinning backflip rooster snatches the egg from the jade dragon" move to win, that he sucked.

Also, I completely agree.

The kid wasn't pretty about it, but it was obviously extremely effective in this expectedly sloppy situation.

now that i think about it, his stance he gets into at first reminds me of something i saw in the matrix when neo is fighting morpheous for the first time.

unless you spar frequently, all the techniques you learn will be out the door when it comes down to a street brawl.

I'm sorry, but I don't get a martial arts impression from that kid, he doesn't seem to have the control or patience an experienced martial artist would have.

ten dollars says that without his training he would have had his ass beat.

If he infact had training. That other kid was just some punk trying to look though infront of his friends. He never got a hit in, and I'm pretty sure anyone else in the "fighters" position could have done the same or worse a lot quicker.

Nothing special.

However, the video where the guy beats up the six kids, that was pretty cool. :)

Bingo!

people are forgetting a fight is not 100% physical. All that BS at the start did exactly what he wanted. it scared the crap out of the punk.

While the actual fighting by the guy in the red shirt was guly it worked. The punk did not hit him one time and it the redshirt guy knocked him down with 1 well placed hit.

they guy had some skills. now i don't think he been doing it all his life but he defiantly spent some time in some martial arts.

two things strike me though.

1) the kid with the big mouth... screaming... "i'm gonna F you up"... went down quickly
2) the other guy made a big show about martial arts, or whatever it was... then did not use them.

:)

yea..he started to swing randomly when attacked

hah that was great.

i love them 1 hit knockouts. i think that red shirt kid had some skill. he wasn't bruce lee, but it looked like he knew somewhat what he was doing.

He loses all his form when it goes to hands and starts slugging it out. He just got lucky more or less.. If he was fighting someone who knew how to scrap it would be a different story... but red shirt guy definitely reacts well to the weak punches thrown by the other guy.
and I bet he's had some training in whatever it is that he's doing... but I don't think someone who is really confident would be doing all of the posing.
plus he telegraphs like a novice.

Karate guy in the red shirt also was a good 6 inches taller and probably outweighed thelittle "gangster" by at least 50 pounds...at least.
