bwhwhahaa. That fvcker knows nothing about martial arts. He punches like a little girl. Plus any martial artist never leaves his thumb hanging out like that. Makes it easy for someone to grab and break it.

He wasn't fighting a ninja, he was fighting a little punk from the streets with 3 foot shorts.

Man, hollywood has jaded some of you.

I've taken some classes for Kung-Fu, and he definitely didn't look like any "martial artist" to me.

Did your mom drop you off before or after she went to get her hair done? :)

Actually, I took it with both my brother and my father, and it's not like what you just saw there.

kung fu hahahaha

seriously do you know what makes a martial artist anyway?

regardless too much fluff not enough fighting...I was hoping for a brawl.

He did one interesting move somewhere in there that may have conviced me, but I mean, the way he was moving at the beginning just didn't...seem right.

I'm not expert, so I guess my opinion is worth no more than anyone elses.

EDIT : Yeah, I think he was just trying to scare him, but like I said...something around the end looked like actual martial arts, he went to punch him and his back leg lifted as he was putting his weight forward. Looks familiar...

Yeah, some of his movement was sort of weird... but then again he was among a lot of people who could've been potential enemies... maybe he was tought to always be focusing on potential threats, and always be moving. Well it's an entertaining video, if nothing else.

Hahahahaha!!! I did not even notice that he took his shoes off until you mentioned it. Sheesh! I guess I was a bit disappointed cause he went thru all those pretty stances, then when it got down to business, he was just swinging and flailing his arms almost as poorly as the other kid. I was hoping for some disciplined arm movement and one really good action movie shot that sent him flying.. you know the types i mean.. then the little birdies go off other the downed guys head...

Hehehe. Actually, I think a lot of that flailing was just deflecting the oncoming punches of the other guy, and just waiting for a good time to strike him upside the head. Right in the ear, the percussion off of those can leave you pretty confused.

for all the haters in this thread, the winner was actually using a specific style of martial arts. i watched this with a co-worker who is big into martial arts earlier in the week and he named the style, not sure what it was, but he executed it like he should have.

I'm sorry, is Kung Fu not a Martial Art? Look at Bruce Lee.

The guy in the red shirt was definitely bluffing. I've taken a few years of karate. At the end of the video, after 5 minutes of dancing around he threw a roundhouse punch. Anyone who has studied any martial art for any length of time knows not to do that. Any white belt could have shown this guy up. The first thing they teach a new white belt is how to block a punch. The second thing they teach is how to throw a punch. When you prepare to throw a punch you keep your fist in close to your body. Then you go straight in to the target. It's much more difficult to block that way and you have a better chance at striking the target.

A roundhouse punch is very easy to block since it approaches the target in a wide arc. The fact that the punch's path is in the form of an arc gives the defender much more time to see the punch coming and get a block up.

This guy was smart though. He saw the ghetto boy for what he was, just a punk. Then he pretended to be some martial arts expert by striking that lame pose and sticking with it. He shook the thug up so much that the thug went down after the first punch. Very nice mind tricks there. I give the guy thumbs up for his acting ability. Thumbs down for actual fighting skill.

Guy in red tshirt had absolutely no form at all. Watch the end of the video again. His punches were slow, inefficient, not to mention his stance is totally lacking in balance. Every fighter knows to be in ready stance sideways to maintain the smallest target, with arms in position to block/protect the body/ribs. Notice when he took the punk out, he was doing these wide, arcing swings. You get far more power from a straight cross, which is also faster. This is just some guy copying something he saw from the matrix, swinging his arms, and getting lucky.

Yup. At the end of the film when he was finally ready to throw a punch all his "form" magically disappeared. He stood up and threw that round house punch. He was just trying to psych the guy out and apparently it worked.

I believe that style is called "posing".

He got in a pretty lucky shot, that's all.

Regardless, the outcome was that he dropped the punk. Who gives a flying fvck what, if any, style you use to accomplish something if the end result is the same? That's all that matters in a fight. Ever.

I saw a lot of possible problems in that fight...personally I'd have just whacked him...if his other homey's jumped in dealt with it. I think that was his battle in this.

so what do you do...even experts pick the wrong move at times...add a crowd then even more.

doubt it, my first day in class I was working a lot although my 'style' wasn't part of the class.

By blue I was taking on idiot black belts. The 'real' black belts would school me however.

same with flying stuff...however in a *typical* fight you were fuxor your opponent. In a *real* fight most of the time if you lose your stability (flying or not secure with the ground) your opponent is going to pick you out of the air.
