Any one have any problems with PvZ Garden Warfare on the new 15.5 drivers for a 7950. It freezes every time when you select your plant when you try to start a game? The mouse pointer in the game still works, but you cannot click on anything and the plant stops animating. When I drop back to windows it says PvZ says it is not longer responding and I have to close it. I plan to drop back to the 14.12 drivers and try them tonight.

I dropped back down to 14.12 and that didn't help. The game will still freeze. Nothing is overclocked and everything else runs fine. Any tips on how to get this game to run.

Well it is the Origin Account. One account plays the game fine and one doesn't. How can fix that, or do I have to call Origin support?

run repair on the game; looks like possibly corrupt install; not from updating drivers but from whatever. If that doesn't help check with EA; PvsZ Garden usually fairly stable.....

When was the last time you played??

I already tried the repair install. Besides it appears to be at the account level not game level. Both accounts and game install are new. It just runs on one origin account and crashes one, all on the same computer. Another computer behaves the same way. I plan to contact EA tonight. Maybe they can help.

As for stable there is huge thread on EA's forums about people not ever getting it to run. Random solutions seem to work for random people. But, I didn't see anyone fix it by having EA do something to their account.

sometimes; running the game and sometimes shutting down origin can work; I've never had an issue - corrupt installs can do that; sometimes best to delete and redownload; but repair tends to do that.

do you have anything overclocked and does it do it on any other game?

The game and origin have been shutdown numerous times. And the computer has been rebooted and nothing is overclocked. Other games run fine. Also, remember this happens on two separate computers. It really has to be account related. One origin account on both computers plays the game fine. The other origin account on both computers causes the game to freeze when you select your plant. I have never seen anything like it, but I bet it is the same problem others have had on their forums. Most people don't have multiple origin accounts with the same game and multiple computers to test this. Also, who would think their account is the problem. I found it out by accident, when I told my son to login on the other computer, because I new it worked there under my account. Then I get, "Hey, look Dad it crashes here to." I plan to chat with EA tonight.

wow that is an interesting bug. Please let us know what EA got to say; as you've got good findings there to show that the game itself is stable but crashes when logged under a different account. Very interesting find; please let me know what happens :)

Well the plot thickens. I chatted with EA. Had me clean out windows temp folders, delete Origin stuff from my users directory and programdata directory. All the time I am like this is not going to work. It didn't. Then he decides to try the game under my sons account at his work. He says it works fine. He tells me to uninstall my 7950 drivers because some of the crashes in the logs from msinfo32 reference the driver dll. Most don't though, they just say the games exe. Then install the newest beta's, which I had already tried. If that didn't work completely uninstall the game and reinstall it. Next create a new admin account and run it from there. I ask him how this will fix it if it runs fine under my account, he says that is how corrupt files work. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't work. Pretty sure if the file is corrupt it never works. But to humor him, I end the chat and begin the uninstall and reinstall of the newest drivers. No go. Same for the game, stil no go. Create a new admin account, and still no go. By that time it was late so I went to bed. This morning I decide let me try on our 3rd computer which my other son plays on and it works fine. I needed to get to work, so I couldn't test much, but it didn't freeze when I selected the plant. Totally confused now, and I am going to chat with EA again tonight.

Summary. My sons account freezes on computers A and B, but works (more testing needed) on C. A, B, and C play the game fine with other origin accounts.

Very odd that it works on computer C.

If what I can tell it might be something that is corrupted or desynced on your profile. Garden Warfare uses an online save system to keep your character settings and account info synced from computer to computer.

Have you tried deleting the PVZ Garden Warfare directory in the My Documents directory? That is where the PC specific information is stored (PC settings, screenshots) .

They didn't mention the My Documents directory. But, when I created a new admin account that should have used a new My Documents directory and any other windows user specific stuff.

I delete the PvZ directory in My documents just for fun. No change as expected. Also, now I cannot chat with EA. When I got to resume my case from last night my only option is to have them call me. Is that normal? I much prefer chat, so I can work on it at night when family members are sleeping.

It does freeze on computer C also. Must have just got lucky this morning when I tried it once. I ended up opening another case, so I could chat. He removed the game from my sons account then re-added it. Then he told me to uninstall it again and re-download it. So, that is what I am doing. He didn't know how to remove my son's current saved progress. I really think it is corrupt on their servers. I asked how downloading the game for a third time would change anything and he said it was because it would be a new code for the game. It is just a code, the game should be the same, so beats me how that matters.

Well the new game code didn't work. No surprise really. Something is strange though. My other son's account now freezes the game at the same spot on computer C. My account still works fine on all three though. Either EA has problems with corrupt saved game profiles or it has something to do with them being kids accounts and not adult accounts. But, I am starting to see why people dislike EA and Origin.

Computer specs:
A: 2500K, 8gigs, 7950 15.5 beta drivers
B: G3220, 8gigs, integrated video
C: G620, 8gigs, 6750 14.12 drivers

OP, sorry to hear about your troubles with PvZ. I don't have a solution but more of a question. You mentioned that you and your kids have deprecate accounts and you play on the listed computers (A, b, and C above). How well does the game play on computer B with integrated video ... If at all? The game will play on a system with integrated video ?

Thank you ...

I turned everything to low and set the resolution to 1024 x 768. I haven't done more than walk around, but it seemed OK.

Just an update. Seems the last guy removed and re-added the game to my account and not my sons. Looks like you have to talk to them on the phone as only phone reps have access to underage accounts. The guy I just chatted with seemed to think it freezes because they are underage accounts. I am going to try and get them to convert both accounts to full adult accounts. Also underage accounts can not have friend lists, so they are forced to play with strangers instead of only people I allowed on their friend lists.

He did give me 15% discount code for my trouble.

... But did this solve your problem(s)?
