PVR Software for PC (Like Tivo or Replay)

Anyone know anything about the current state of homemade PVR technology? I'm really into the idea of a dedicated box, and I already have a Tivo which I love, but the idea intrigues me none the less.

I've found these 2 websites with some cool screenshots:

MythTV

I know Freevo is Opensource, but I'm not too sure about MythTV. Both projects seem very cool.

Why the hell would I have mentioned Linux? I'm open to Windows PVR technology if you guys know about it, but it's not my fault that the 2 programs I found are being built for Linux.

I am trying out showshifter at the moment. I like it because the menus are large and easy to see on a regular tv screen. I think there's a list of different programs at http://www.tv-cards.com/ (click on the 3rd party app link on the left).

And check out avsforum.com, there's a section in their forums dedicated to htpc's
